Avantika – Imran’s Unusual Girlfriend

Just the day before we had updated you about a crazy female admirer biting Imran Khan’s hand during a promotional event for IHLS last Saturday in Dubai.

When we asked Imran about the same, he instantly replied,
‘It was at a night club in Dubai. The whole thing was taken out of context. I was shaking hands with a lot of people outside. She held my hand and was trying to pull me. I don’t think she was trying to hurt me.’ Sonam cheekily added, ‘She just took the chocolate boy tag too seriously.’

On being asked what his girlfriend, Avantika Malik had to say about the biting episode, Imran quite candidly said, ‘She was very happy. According to her, the more female fans that I have, the more successful I will be.’

Imran’s first film, JAANE TU YA JAANE NA released on 4th July, 2008, and now IHLS is releasing on 2nd July. Does the month July have anything to do behind the stars success???

Well with the release of I HATE LUV STORYS, we will soon come to know if the July factor proves second time lucky for Imran.

John-Bips decline offer worth crores

Bollywood’s sexiest couple John and Bipasha declined an offer to promote an erotic product despite being offered with crores. The product is an Indian herbal aphrodisiac which reportedly contains potent philtre and exotic concoctions to boost up a person’s sexual desire. Moreover, sources are quoted as saying that the said herbal aphrodisiac contains Viagra.

The offer, however, failed to grab the attention of John and Bips. The couple is learnt to have turned it down saying they do not usually approve products that contain Viagra.

Bipasha made it clear saying she likes to get associated with credible products that promote health and fitness and such stuff doesn’t suit her personality.

In the past too the couple was approached to endorse sex related products, but they were least interested.

Item Girl Harassed

Item girl Meghna Naidu has been harassed by a hacker and is much stressed these days. Her e-mail account has been hacked by someone and this hacker has been posting obscene messages while chatting to her friends. The hacker is reported to have even told her friends that she was pregnant and planning to abort the child. Not just that, the imposter used very foul language against some Bollywood actors, making Meghna’s friends suspicious.

That’s when they called up Meghna to confirm if she was chatting with them.

Meghna said she was shocked to hear all the things the hacker had posted after taking over her account.

She has filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime Investigation Cell. She has been assured that the hacker will be nabbed within a week.

Kangana won't blow kisses

Kangana Ranaut is set for a brush with the underworld on screen once again after "Gangster". She reveals that her character in "Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai" is a cross between don Haji Mastan's wife Sona and yesteryears beauty Madhubala.

"In real life Haji was a big fan of Madhubala-ji and he fell in love with Sona who looked like her. So my character is a cross between the two," Kangana told in an interview from Mumbai.

"The character I am playing has some similarities with Madhubala-ji...like the way she was a superstar and had problems in life...," she added.

Talking about her character Rehana in the film, Kangana said: "Rehana is a very big star...she is the woman who evokes desire in everyone and then she falls in love with this gangster and discovers a new world. My character transforms from a star to a woman."

Her character might be similar to that of Madhubala but Kangana was inspired by other yesteryears heroines too for the role.

"I observed 70's actresses like Zeenat Aman and Parveen Babi... they were the rebels who wore bikinis and were style icons. My character is somehow like them," said Kangana.

Set primarily in the 1970s Mumbai, the film by Milan Luthria will trace the changing face of the underworld through the eyes of a police officer. The story follows the rise of Sultan (Ajay Devgn), and his eventual fall when his protege Shoaib (Emraan Hashmi) challenges his supremacy and usurps power to rule the underworld in the city.

The film that releases July 30 also features Prachi Desai.

On her personal life, Kangana is candid and says she doesn't care what people think of her. And being a Bollywood diva is not really her cup of tea.

"I really don't care what people think of me and how they perceive me. That is okay with me because I don't make an extra effort to be friendly to people. I do things I like doing," Kangana told.

"I'm a very moody person. There are times when I want to talk about my life whereas there are days I just want to be left alone," she said.

Kangana is unlike other Bollywood stars who are interacting with fans on micro-blogging site Twitter but maintains she shares a "personal relationship" with her well-wishers.

"I don't put myself on Twitter to see how many people are crazy about me. I don't like to blow kisses at my fans to show that I am a diva. This whole idea of diva doesn't turn me on," said Kangana.

"I share a very personal relationship with my fans and my close ones. Even when I meet people who appreciate my work, I talk to them as I talk to everyone else. That is the way I have always been," she added.

Imran-Deepika stopped from tweeting

Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone have been strictly warned not to desist from tweeting about their film Break Ke Baad. And the reason is quite evident and simple: if Twitter provides a platform to promote a film, its extensive use also poses a threat for the movies that are in the production stages. It’s a great matter of concern for the makers who are in no mood to reveal too much about the film before its release.

Director Kunal Kohli confirms the news, “I’ve only asked Deepika and Imran to desist from tweeting for three weeks until Imran’s new film “I Hate Luv Storys” is released. I don’t want any overlapping in the public’s subconscious about the two films.”

Well, this has happened before too. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala was furious with Priyanka Chopra’s tweets about the film Anjaana Anjaani which also stars Ranbir Kapoor. She too was forbidden from scribbling anything on the micro-blogging site.

Grapevine has it that, Imran is quite sad with being away from Twitter.

Sallu to become the bodyguard of world’s sexiest woman

If all goes well, the Wanted star Salman Khan will act opp the world’s sexiest woman, Deepika Padokone in the Hindi remake of a Malayalam film Bodyguard.

The story is about a young man, who gets attracted to people with heroic qualities and follows them like a bodyguard. But, the interesting twist comes when he is hired to accompany a businessman’s gorgeous daughter to college as a real bodyguard.

In the Malayalam version, South Indian actors Dileep and Nayantara were in the lead roles. Currently, the director is busy with the Tamil version of the film, which stars Asin Thottumkal and the South superstar Vijay.

Atul Agnihotri managed to get the rights for the Hindi version of the film. Siddique will take up the role of the director and writer in the Hindi version after completing the Tamil.

Salman Khan has confirmed playing the lead role but Deepika is not sure yet. The shooting of the film will commence on December 6 in Ranikhet.

‘Aisha’ is very special and completely different

The movie Aisha is a very special, different and a very stylish flick, portraying the contemporary youth in a new, vibrant way. The Sonam-Abhay starrer is imbued with freshness.

Producer Rhea Kapoor (Sonam’s sister) and Sanjeev Bijli, the joint managing director of PVR Limited, are proud and thrilled for their fresh film ‘Aisha’.

The most amazing part about the film is that the average age of the cast and crew members are between 23 and 25. Inspired by Jane Austen’s Victorian gem ‘Emma’, the film is directed by Rajshri Ojha.

Aisha is all about friendships and new-age relationships. The story narrates Aisha, played by Sonam, who is head-strong yet feminine, and her gang of friends.

“The outfits in Aisha are beautiful and relatable” says Rhea. She has worn lots of lace and pretty, trendy outfits for the film. While the smart aleck Abhay Deol (Arjun Burman), an investment banker in the film, is a “clotheshorse”. His personal style is casual yet fun.

Can’t wait to watch this movie. It sounds so young and pure fun. :)

Aisha is set to release on August 6.
